We will be meeting at the pitch at 0915 or 0900 at Hairmyres. AVD have started the season very strongly having, like us won their opening 3 games. EKYC 14's 0 Kelvin Villa 15's 0

Starting Line Up; Kinniburgh, McCulloch, Park, Gibson, March, Kerr, Kelly, Arrol, McDonagh, Devlin & Smith. Subs; Graham & Purves

Man of the Match; Darren Smith

This was a fantastic peformance by all 13 players. Were it not for the bar stopping a Ryan Kelly left foot strike, a shot cleared off the line and 2 wonder saves by the Villa keeper we would have won the game. As it was, anyone watching would have thought we were the older side as we had Villa camped in their own half for the full 70 minutes. Everyone should be proud of the effort they put in.

Netherton Amber v EKYC, Sunday 9th September

This Sundays game is against Netherton Amber at Muirhouse Pitches in Motherwell. We will be meeting at 0830 hrs at Hairmyres Train Station or 0900hrs at the pitches. The kick off is 0930hrs.

EKYC v Kelvin Villa, Thursday 6th September

A friendly against Kelvin Villa under 15's has been arranged for Thursday 6th September with a 6.30ko at Ballerup. Players should report to Ballerup at 6pm wearing their training kit for a game on grass.

Starting Line Up; Kinniburgh, Park, Gibson, March, Kerr, Smith, Kelly, Arrol, Hill, Devlin & McDonagh. Subs; McCulloch, Munro, Hamilton & Purves
Goal Scorers; Munro(2), Devlin, Purves, Hamilton, Kelly & Kerr
Incident of Note: A special note today goes to Ryan Kelly's gran who was yellow carded by the referee for incroaching onto the field and kicking the ball. From the resultant throw in we scored our 6th goal, which goes down as an assist. Now we know where Ryan gets his left foot from !

EKYC 0 Newmains Hammers 0. Newmains Hammers win 5-3 on pens

The SFA National Play Final ended in dissapointment for EKYC, losing out 5-3 on penalties to fellow LFDA side Newmains Hammers. The game ended 0-0, but only because in the last minute Hammers goalkeeper had an outstanding save from a Tommy March drive. Our boys played their usual passing game, with only the finishing ussually provided by the holidaying Sam Hill was missing. The boys left the field bitterly dissapointed, but with praise ringing in their ears from everyone who watched the game, including the match officials, who all said that the best team had lost. That said, we offer our congratulations to Newmains Hammers, and we look forward to locking horns with them again next year. We will now break for 3 weeks holiday, returning to training on Tuesday 17th July.
Starting Line Up; Kinniburgh, McCulloch, Park, Smith, Graham, March, Kelly, Arrol, Hamilton, Gibson & Kerr. Subs. Purves, Crichton & McDonagh

Training Tuesday 19th June

This Tuesday at training we are having a visit from the Rangers Football in the Community coach. He will be putting his boys through their paces in the last session of the season, and working on counter attacking and set pieces. Hopefully we can learn something to take into Sunday's National Cup Final. We will be meeting at Dunedin at the usual time of 6pm and finishing at 8pm.

EKYC 1994 MAKE NATIONAL FINALS

After a long hard day of travel and football we have been rewarded with a place in the National Cup Final.

We left East Kilbride at 7.30 on Sunday morning to make the trip to Galashiels to play on the Netherton pitches. The result of our group section matches were

EKYC 2 Riverside FC (Stirling) 0

EKYC 2 Leven BC (Fife) 0

EKYC 9 Selkirk (D & G) 0

In the semi final we were drawn against the Inverness Clachnacudden Development Squad. We had almost an hour and a half between the last group match and the semi final, and the boys began to feel the effects of 3 games in such a short space of time. An injury to Christopher Park, and illness to Craig Hamilton left us with just 13 fit players for the majority of the day.

The Semi Final result was

EKYC 1 Inverness Clachnacudden 0

A last minute goal from Ryan KELLY put us into the final on Sunday to be held at Ochilview, home of Stenhousemuir FC. Our opponents will be fellow LFDA side Newmains Hammers who beat Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers on penalties in the other semi.

We have yet top be informed of the kick off time on Sunday, so keep your eyes peeled here. We will also be running a coach to the game which will be available to people on a first come first served basis. Lets hope we can turn out in numbers to cheer the boys on in what has been a long and hard fought season. Hopefully now we will be rewarded with some silver wear.

Fundraising Dance on Friday 15th June Cancelled

The fundraising dance due to be held on Friday 15th June at St Andrews Hall, Kittoch Street, East Kilbride has been cancelled due to insufficient ticket sales. Although we have had assistance from sponsor MB Electrics towards the costs of new strips, tracksuits and training kit for next year, we are left with a substantial short fall. Unfortunately this will mean each player being issued with hidden team cards and raffle tickets to fund the items. The dance will be re scheduled early next season, and hopefully there will be a better response.

Disappointment as EKYC Finish Season Runners Up

On the final day of the season Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers beat Hamilton Boys Club to win the LFDA League by 3 points. Season Extended As EKYC Qualify For Scottish Regional Play Offs

We have been informed by LFDA that due to our form this season, we have qualified for the Scottish Development Associations Regional Play Offs. This is a tremendous achievement in our first year of competative football, and only clubs that finish in the top 2 of their League qualify for the event. Teams from Development Leagues all over Scotland compete in the play offs over the weekend of Saturday 16th/ Sunday 17th June. The event will take place at a top venue and in the past has been at Scottish National Sports Training Centre, Inverclyde, Strathclyde University Pitches, Stirling University Pitches and Heriot Watt University Pitches(the training ground of Hearts FC). The finals take place the following week, Sunday 24th June at Ochilview, the home of Stenhousemuir Football Club. It is essential that everyone continues to turn up and work hard in training, as this will be our stiffest test of the year.

League Title Goes All The Way To Last Day of The Season

This Sunday 27th May, Hamilton Boys Club take on Wishaw WW in the last LFDA game of the season. If Hamilton win, a play off between ourselves and Wishaw WW will take place for the League title. The game takes place with a 1030 ko at Bent 3G Astro on Sunday 27th May. Keep your eye on this sight for an update on the score.
