Goal Scorers: Craig Hamilton(2), Sam Hill(2),Darren Smith,Dean Arrol & Ryan Kelly
Starting Line Up:Kinniburgh,March,Park,Gibson,Kerr,Smith,Kelly,Arrol,Hill,Hamilton & Purves. Sub:McCulloch
Man of the Match: Ryan KELLY
The only game to take place in a snowbound East Kilbride today was our 1/4 final Cup tie with league leaders Aston Villa Diamonds. From the start our boys had Villa pressed in their own half and they struggled to get out. With a strong wind behind us we were soon in the lead with a wonder free kick from Darren SMITH. Further quick fire goals from Craig HAMILTON and Dean ARROL had Diamonds rocking and they were on the back foot. We pressed all over them with quick passing and some great movement and further goals from Sam HILL and another from Craig HAMILTON saw us 5-0 at half time. We braced ourselves for the Villa onslaught, but our boys continued to play some great passing footaball, and even into the wind looked like being the only team who were going to score. Further goals from Ryan KELLY and Sam HILL put us 7 up, and it was only good goalkeepeing a puddle in the Diamonds goal mouth that kept the score in single figures. It was our best display of the season considering the strength of the opposition and the weather conditions.

Special Thanks To Baird Ferguson For Donation
The club would like to thank Baid Ferguson for very kindly collecting on behalf of our team on the North Sea Oil Riggs. Baird has been a regular at our fundraising nights, but unfortunately could not attend the most recent St Valentines Disco due to work commitments, however he took it upon himself to raise a collection from his co workers and raised £70 towards our funds.
We very much appreciate the effort that he has made and thank him very much. Baird and his son Ross were also bidding on signed Henrik Larsson jersey, which shows the commitment they have to supporting the team.

Gangsters & Molls Fundraiser A Huge Success
Last nights St Valentines Disco held in St Andrews Hall, East Kilbride was a great success. Everyone who attended had a great time and contributed significantly towards the costs of our Barcelona trip. A Special thanks goes to John Quinn and the parents of the under 10/11's who made a special effort to be there and boost the numbers in attendance, was it not for them the hall would have been half empty. Thanks John!! The auction items proved a great source of funds with John Quinn bidding on behalf of Gordon Bevaird, and buying the signed Larsson jersey for £500. The Roy Keane jersey was bought for £150, the Rangers jersey £110 and the Celtic jersey had already been sold for £200. A great night, and it was just a pity more of our parents weren't there to enjoy it.

Auction Prizes For Dance Revealed
Pictured above the jerseys which are available for auction at the fundraising dance to be held on Friday 9th February.
The 1st is an extremely rare autographed Roy Keane Celtic jersey, with no 16 and name Keane printed on the rear. This jersey was very kindly donated by EKYC president Denny Byrne. The jersey will come framed, which Denny also very kindly paid for.
The 2nd is a Manchester United away jersey signed by ex Celtic and Barcelona superstar Henrik Larsson. The jersey is signed above the crest.
The 3rd is a Rangers jersey signed by the current first team squad and includes the autographs of manageement team Walter Smith & Ally McCoist.
The 4th jersey is a Celtic jersey signed by the current first team squad.
All of the jerseys will be extremely sought after and will hopefully attract more people to attend the dance, for which very few tickets have sold so far.
A publicity photo including the jerseys will be placed in next weeks issues of the EK Mail and the EK News, encouraging local businesses to bid for the jerseys in an effort to raise the much needed cash towards the Barcelona trip.
The dance is a much needed source of income due to the fact that our application for Lottery funding has been turned down. Please make every effort to support the team and attend the dance. YOU WILL ENJOY YOURSELF, I PROMISE!!!

Christmas Day Out At Soccer Circus, Xscape
This year's Christmas treat was to take the boys to Kevin Keegan's Soccer Circus at Xscape in Braehead, on Thursday 28th December 2006. The boys had a great time in the training academy where Simon Purves got the highest combined score over the three disciplines. His prize was a signed mini football by England & Liverpool legend Kevin Keegan. This did cause some confusion however as Christopher Park thought Kevin was a singer from the charts, and not a famous player with previous clubs such as Southampton, Liverpool, Hamburg and Newcastle United who managed English giants such as Newcastle United and Manchester City as well as England. Ah well, I am sure he won't get slagged for it !!!! NOT!!!
It was a great day and one which I am sure all the boys enjoyed. As usual they were well mannered and well behaved and a credit to the club and their families.

Antonine Boys Club 2 EKYC 1
Our much postponed 4th round Scottish Cup tie with Antonine Boys Club was played today on the astro turf at East End, Dumbarton. With the Old Firm clash taking place at 1230 the kick off was put back to 3pm.
Antonine cought our boys cold and a great through ball which split the centre of defence was finished off by the Centre forward after only a minute.
Our boys rallied and were unlucky with Sam Hill coming close on a few occassions.
Antonine were penned in their own half for most of the 1st half, but we could not make our possession pay.
The second half started in same way, which YC attacking in waves, and Antonine looking dangerous on the counter attack.
It was from one of these attacks that they added to their lead, when a YC corner was cleared up the park and the pacy centre forward rounded James Kinniburgh, to put the ball into the empty net.
We replied almost immediately and Dean ARROL followed in as the Antonine keeper spilled a low drive, firing high into the net from close range.
For the final five minutes we had them penned in their own box, but could not find the elusive equaliser.
We wish Antonine all the best in the last 16 against Edina Hibs.
Our boys should be proud of their performances, and with a little luck, and on another surface, the result may have been differant.
Starting Line Up: Kinniburgh, McCulloch, Park, Kerr, Graham, Gibson, Purves, Arrol, Hill, March & Smith.Subs: Hamilton, Kelly, Crichton & Elliot
Goal Scorer: Dean ARROL
Man of the Match: DEAN ARROL

Antonine Boys Club v EKYC, Scottish Cup 4th Round, Sunday 17th December, 3pm kick off
The Scottish Cup tie with Antonine Boys Club on Sunday was again called off, due to a waterlogged pitch. The game has been re scheduled for this Sunday 17th December, with a 3pm kick off. The game will be played at East End in Dumbarton. This is an astro turf pitch so the game should be played this time. I know the kick off time is not ideal, with the Old Firm game being played that day, but we have no option as the fixture is arranged by the home side. The pitch is next to Dumbarton East railway station.

Third Time Lucky - Antonine Boys Club v EKYC

We would like as many people as possible to make the journey and support the boys in what, weather permitting will be a very hard tie.

EKYC94 EBay Site Update
The EBay site continues to be a great source of fundraising, and with 18 auctions finishing today, the funds collected on EBay so far have reached £600. There are only a few of the players and families who have very kindly donated items for auction, but as you can see it is very worth while, especially in the run up to Christmas, when people are looking for gift ideas. Anyone who can assist with auction items should see Andy at training on Wednesday. We are especially looking for PS2, Xbox and Gameboy games which are no longer used, as these are sought after on EBay, although any unwanted items will be most welcome.
Scottish Cup Tie Postponed
Todays Scottish Cup tie with Antonine Boys Club was postponed due to a water logged pitch. The match will be re scheduled for next weekend.

Antonine Boys Club Game Now Moved To Sunday 3 December
The Scottish Cup 4th round tie against Antonine Boys Club has been changed from Saturday to SUNDAY 3rd DECEMBER. The venue is now Duntocher Hibs ground in Duntocher with an 1100 o'clock kick off. Scottish Cup 4th Round Re scheduled Game
The Scottish Cup tie against Antonine Boys Club, postponed from last weekend has been re scheduled for this SATURDAY morning with a 10am kick off. The pitch is at the foot of the Erskine Bridge at the Old Kilpatrick side. The forecast is for heavy rain and we will need to wait and see if the game goes ahead. The draw for the 5th Round(last 16) has been made, and if we get through what will be an extremely difficult match against Antonine Boys Club, we will face yet another trip, this time to Edinburgh crack outfit EDINA HIBS. The 5th round is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 9/10th of December.
Sunday, November 26, 2006
Midland Cup 2nd Round Draw
The draw has been made for the 2nd Round of the Midland Cup, and at long last we have drawn a home tie. The game against Blue Star Coatbridge was due to take place on Sunday 3rd December, but due to the re scheduling of the Scottish Cup tie against Antonine Boys Club, it will take place on the next available Sunday morning, possibly the 10th. It looks like we will have no more league games til after Christmas, which means a major fixture backlog come the light nights, when we will be playing 2 mid week games and a weekend game to catch up.
Scottish Cup Tie Postponed
Sunday's Scottish Cup tie against Antonine Boys Club was called off at 0815 this morning after a late pitch inspection. We apologise for the late call off, the pitch was playable on Saturday night, but heavy overnight rain meant the pitch was too dangerous to play on. The game will be rescheduled for next Sunday 3rd December.

Match Postponed - Dunblane Sports Club v EKYC
Saturday's game at Dunblane Sports Club was cancelled at 9pm on Friday night due to the fact that the home club could not source a referee. We apologise for the late cancellation of the game which was beyond our control. We did try to get a referee of our own to take to the game but were unable to get one at such late notice.
The game will be rearranged for next Saturday 18th November. We are going to keep Sundays game with Baillieston arranged as we cannot afford to miss another LYFDA game. In short, we will be playing both next Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Achievement To Be Proud Of
This Saturdays result in the Scottish Cup should not be lost on anyone. To travel to an away tie against a team the calibre of Broxburn Athletic Colts, and come away with a victory was a great achievement, and all 15 of the boys involved should be proud of themselves. It should be noted that with Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers suffering a 4-0 defeat at Stonehaven, we are the only LYFDA team left in the under 13 competition. Further to that, no other EKYC team at any age group are still in the competition, so we carry the EKYC banner into the 4th round draw which is made on Friday. It can be viewed by accessing the SYFA website and following the links to Scottish Cup. All the remaining teams will be tough opposition, but hopefuly we will benefit from a home draw this time.

Town Centre Raffle Fundraiser
After our hard fought 3rd Round Scottish Cup success our boys attended at East Kilbride Town Centre to sell raffle tickets for the signed Scotland jersey on display in Footballtops.com. They sold tickets at vantage points throughout the centre and did a fantastic job raising £903 towards the funds. The winning ticket was drawn within Footballtops.com and was MR JOHN BAXTER from HAMILTON. He was delighted with his win. We would like to thank everyone who helped to raise this fund in particular the players parents and friends who gave up their Saturday afternoon to assist us with the collection.

EKYC Raffle Within Town Centre on Saturday 4th November 2006
On Saturday 4th November 2006, we have arranged to hold a fundraising raffle within East Kilbride Town Centre with all proceeds going towards the Barcelona trip.
We have managed to obtain a framed Scotland 3rd strip. The strip has been signed by the Scotland Squad for the recent games against Faroe Islands and Lithuania.
The raffle will take place from between 1000 in the morning and 5pm and will be drawn within the centre on that day. The jersey will be on display within Footballtops.com from Saturday 25 October for anyone who wishes to view it.
We will need adult volunteers to assist with the sale of the tickets as the boys are too young to collect the money . Collection times will be split between 1000-1400 and 1300-1700. The cross over in the middle is to allow a change over of boys and helpers. The boys will be issued with the yellow jerseys for the collection and should wear their club tracksuit trousers.

Rangers Coach Visit To Training A Huge Success

On Wednesday 11 October the Senior Community Coach from Rangers Football Club, Ryan MAYE, attended at Ballerup and put the palyers through their paces. It was a great turn out from the boys considering we were competing with the Scotland v Ukraine game. The boys learned some new warm up exercises and then Ryan concentrated on shaping the defence. All the boys thoroughly enjoyed the new approach and everyone learned a great deal. We would like to thank Ryan for his attendance and look forward to another visit soon.

There are still tickets available for the Disco this Friday. They are £5 each and can be bought from Andy. Yet again we have excelled ourselves in obtaining great auction items and raffle prizes, which include a signed Celtic jersey, a France jersey signed by Jeremy Clement, a signed Watford jersey, a match worn signed Andy Goram jersey, signed Stefan Klos gloves, £200 Optical Express Vouchers, £50 Slater Vouchers, McDonalds Vouchers, a France jersey donated by Footballtops.com, and many more. We are still in negotiations with Spymasters re a package to train to be a spy for a day. Please make every effort to be there, however if you cannot manage then make sure someone who is going buys tickets for you, as with only a maximum of 90 people attending, someone will win some great prizes and all the proceeds are going towards the cost of Barcelona.
EKYC94foreurope EBay Site
The above site has been running for around 3 weeks now and in that time we have raised almost £200. There are 20 auctions finishing on Sunday evening and it is hoped that this total rises considerably. Anyone wishing to donate items should hand them to Andy who will advertise them. We would like to thank the Gibson and McCulloch families who have donated the majority of the items for sale so far. Remember, anything you have can help towards the costs of Barcelona.

The Real reason Gary O'Connor Missed The Plane to Ukraine

Shocking pictures have been released that show the real reason Scotland star Gary O'Connor was not on the flight to Ukraine with the squad. EKYC sources reveal that O'Connor met up with YC captain Dean Arrol after the recent defeat by Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers. O'Connor was trying to console Deano who was distraught at his teams defeat. The above picture was taken by our intrepid reporter as Arrol was caught with yet another drink in a long line of drinks that day. The club are looking into the matter!!!!

Scottish Cup 2nd Round Draw
The draw for the 2nd round of the Scottish Cup has been made and has given us a home tie against our old friends Partick Thistle FC BC. The game is due to be played on Sunday 22 of October, the venue has yet to be arranged but it is our home tie. We have played Thistle twice in the past couple of years, narrowly defeating them on both occasions. We will need to be at our best if we wish to progress any further. The Cup tie is the first of three vital games that we have up and coming. After Thistle we have a hard league game against Strathclyde United followed by Lawhill United, both of whom are doing well. Our whole squad will be tested in the weeks ahead and it is vital that we continue our good early season form.
Training Wednesday 11 October
This Wednesday's training will take place as usual at Ballerup from 6pm til 8pm.
The Rangers Community Football Coach has been arranged to attend and will put the boys through their paces.

Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers v EKYC, Sunday 8th October 2006
This Sunday is a re arranged fixture as Wrangholmhall have withdrawn from the league. The game against Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers, cancelled due to the Scottish Cup tie has been re scheduled for this Sunday 8th October with a 1030 kick off at the King James V Pitches in Wishaw, which are next to the new Wishaw Gerneral Hospital.
This game promises to be a cracker, as both teams are so far unbeaten and in Round 2 of the Scottish Cup.
We will have to be at our best for the game and will unfortunately be without captain Dean Arrol for the game due to an international call up. He is going to a Christening in Wales!
The team will be meeting at 0930 at Hairmyres Station or 1000 at the pitch.
